Ogier escapes penalty for route error

No action will be taken against Sebastien Ogier following his wrong route on the way into the service park on Rally Mexico on Friday. AUTOSPORT has received unofficial confirmation from the organisers of the Leon-based event that the clerk of the course is happy that there need be no penalty for the Citroen driver, who accidentally drove straight into the midday service area when he was supposed to head for a regroup first.

Novikov amazed by his form so far

Russian star Evgeny Novikov has admitted his early fifth place on Rally Mexico is more than he dared to dream of ahead of the start. The 20-year-old is making his return to the sport this weekend and has driven well to place his Ford Fiesta RS WRC fifth, having run fourth for one stage on Friday. Novikov lost fourth on the day's final gravel test when the recovering Jari-Matti Latvala passed him.

Webber: I?ll finish career at Red Bull

Mark Webber thinks he will see out his Formula 1 career at Red Bull Racing - after making it clear that he is fully focused on a long-term future with the reigning champions. During a sometimes tumultuous 2010 campaign, there was widespread speculation that the Australian could choose to turn his back on the sport. However, speaking ahead of the new season, a fired up Webber said there was no reason for him not to look at extending his spell in F1 - and that meant staying with Red Bull Racing.
