Jackson wins destructive race three

Mat Jackson took Motorbase Performance's first victory with the Ford Focus in the reversed grid British Touring Car round at Donington Park this afternoon. The race was marred by several accidents, which started even before the pack got to the first corner, when the fast-starting Dave Newsham lost control of his Geoff Steel Racing BMW on the grass, spun and hit the Speedworks Motorsport Toyota Avensis of Tony Hughes. Poleman Alex MacDowall (RML Chevrolet Cruze) led into Redgate, but Tony Gilham's Triple 8 Engineering Vauxhall Vectra touched Tom Onslow-Cole's AmD Milltek VW Golf while squabbling over second

STR drivers ?must prove their quality?

Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi must deliver good enough results this season to prove they can be future candidates for Red Bull Racing now that they have a competitive car. That is the view of their Scuderia Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost, who says that the time has come for his driver pairing to show they have the potential to drive for the world championship-winning team. With Toro Rosso's third driver Daniel Ricciardo waiting on the sidelines and ready for promotion to a race seat if Buemi or Alguersuari disappoint, Tost has laid out just what is expected from his men in 2011.

Di Resta thrilled with season start

Paul di Resta has admitted that the start to his Formula 1 career has exceeded even his own expectations after scoring again in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The Force India driver added to his points tally with a strong drive to 10th place in Sepang, just a fortnight after being promoted to that same position in Australia following the disqualification of the Saubers. And having made such a good impression with his strong race craft, di Resta has said that he could never have predicted doing so well so early on

Vettel says KERS was vital for pole

Sebastian Vettel believes he would not have been on pole position if his Red Bull team had not run KERS during qualifying at Sepang. The team had decided not to use the device in Australia in order to avoid problems, but despite that Vettel went on to take a commanding pole and victory. However, with longer straights in Sepang, Red Bull decided to run KERS today, and Vettel finished on top again, although by just a tenth of a second from McLaren's Lewis Hamilton

Better Place?s First Commercial Battery Swap Location Opens in Israel

At the end of the 19th Century, cars were a hodgepodge of drivetrain/control layouts. Even Ford?s Model T veered far from what we know as convention today. Despite being motivated by a front-mounted internal-combustion engine driving the rear wheels, the Tin Lizzie featured a control layout that would seem bizarre to today?s driver: it featured [...]
